We LOVE Neskowin!!
Our family has spent summers in Neskowin for over 70 years – fabulous place for families – our children can play in the creek without fear of rouge waves – with only one road in or out we get very little traffic. The speed limit of 15 mph it is terrific for kids – we can let our little guy roam on his scooter!
Where else can you let your kids climb a Sea Stack! Proposal Rock is famous. Kids from four to seventy four climb the rock every year. We watched sea lions swim by from the top of the rock. In the spring and fall whale watching is good right from the beach. We sit on our third floor deck with a pair of binoculars and watch them spout just outside the breakers. I wonder what it would be like from the top of Proposal Rock? We have never climbed the rock during whale watching season.
The seals play in the surf so it isa fun watching them come and go thru the breakers. The mothers leave their babies on the beach to rest so if you see one on the beach do not pick it up just leave it – Mom will return soon.
